Literature Text

I watch over the night,
The silver moon.
My chariot takes flight
The silver moon.
My lover awaits
The silver moon.
Across the sky skates
The silver moon.
I watch him asleep,
The silver moon.
Tonight I leave my chariot to the deep,
The silver moon.
Zeus' punishment I'll bear.
The silver moon
For once can stay there.
The silver moon
For once shall stay dark,
The silver moon.
The sky shall be stark
Lacking silver moon.
So, anyone remember my Helios poem? Well, this would be his counterpart, the moon goddess, Selene. Depending on the source, she's either his sister or his daughter. This would be the myth of where she neglected her moon chariot for 3 nights (explaining the dark of the new moon) to be with her lover, Endymion. As a punishment, Zeus made Endymion sleep forever, but that didn't stop Selene from having 50 daughters by him. I'll probably do more of these mythology poems, since I like 'em.
